Pablo Neruda or Neftali Ricardo Basoalto was born on July 12, 1904, in Parral Chile. Died on September 23, 1973 in Santiago, Chile.
In 1971 Neruda won the Nobel Prize for Literature. Gabriel Garcia Marquez once called him "the greatest poet on 20th century in any language"
